Monkeypod island
In 2013, local wood working artisan Raj Olson was able to procure this single slab of 'ohai when the tree came down from where it stood for many decades next to the Suisan fish market in Hilo. This tree appears in iconic images of the market. One 'ohai survives there still. An oil painting of the scene by Arthur Johnsen graces the kitchen.
